Swan Valley Anglican Community School F Division Champions at the recent Associated and Catholic Colleges Swimming Carnival

Swan Valley ACS competed in the F Division ACC Swimming Carnival on Wednesday 15 March at HBF Stadium. After several weeks of training our swimmers embraced the challenge. Our team was poised and they showed true Swan Valley spirit and determination that we have come to expect. Students cheered and supported each other through the day.

Our goal for the day was to finish in the top 2, as a team Aranmore College was our biggest competitor. It was a very close battle throughout the day with only a handful of points separating the top three schools right from the first event. We waited with baited breath for the results with a 20 point lead before the relays. Our team spirit was fantastic on the day, winning the Girls Aggregate and Junior Boys shield was outstanding, however, when the winning school was announced our team was ecstatic. All that hard work paid off, especially for many of the Year 12’s who have worked tirelessly over the years. To finally receive this shield was a reward that meant a great deal to everyone. Winning the Overall Shield means that we will move into E Division in 2018.

Listed below are the overall aggregate results:

Overall Total Scores

Swan Valley Anglican Community School: 842
Aranmore Catholic College: 831
Austin Cove Baptist College: 796
Living Waters Lutheran College: 760
Holy Cross College: 748
Kearnan College: 743
St Joseph’s College Albany: 718

Swan Valley ACS had some outstanding individual performances on the day, these were:

U13 Boys Runner up: Alistair Johnston
U13 Girls Runner up: Hope Kavanagh
U14 Girls Champion: Sena Cooper
U15 Boys Runner up: Andre Pavlovic
U15 Girls Joint Champion: Anneka West
Open Girls Champion: Alexia Pavlovic

It was a fantastic day and our students performed tremendously. The whole Swan Valley community is very proud of their achievements and how they represented Swan Valley Anglican Community School.

I would like to take this opportunity to personally thank Mr Lowndes, Miss Fairhall, Miss Ashby and all participating students for their support at the Carnival.

We have waited five years to hold this shield again but it was well worth the wait. Well done to everyone involved in the ACC Swimming Team.
