Internships at SVACS
Swan Valley Anglican Community School has supported the initiative to assist its former students, as well as utilise the skills and talents that they may bring to the School, through the School’s Intern Program.
This Program has resulted in the employment of four Interns in 2017. Each of the Interns not only assist in the Learning Areas in which they have been employed, but also allows the students to stay connected with our school community while contributing to the School’s culture through their impact as positive role models to our current students.
Whilst completing their internship, these individuals have the opportunity to gain experience in the field they may choose for further study or as a profession.
Miss Charlotte Robinson is the intern assisting in the Junior School Art Department. Charlotte graduated from Swan Valley Anglican Community School in 2012 and was the School’s first Intern. Assisting in the Senior School Art Department is Miss Sarah Davis. Sarah graduated from Swan Valley Anglican Community School in 2016. Sarah is also currently studying Early Childhood Education during the course of her internship. Miss Brittany Fairhall is the intern assisting in the Health and Physical Education Department. Brittany graduated from Swan Valley Anglican Community School in 2016. Brittany has also completed her Certificate III in Sport and Recreation during the course of her internship. Mr Jordan Stephen, graduated from the School in 2016. Jordan has been assisting a range of students across the Middle School in a variety of areas as an Intern Education Assistant.
Mr Jason Bartell, Principal said “the culture of the School is such that our students do not ask what they can get from the community but rather what they can give to the community. We are in a fortunate position where we can support four of our students through the early years of their adulthood, in the giving of themselves to our School community.”
