2017 WACE Performance

For a young school, Swan Valley Anglican Community School has achieved a great deal. Particularly significant are the outstanding results of the WACE graduating students of 2017. Not only was SVACS listed as 26th in the Top 50 schools in the state based on our highest ever median ATAR of 86.55 (The West Australian, January 6-7), but we were also listed as 7th in the Top 10 most improved schools in the state for the median ATAR (The Sunday Times, January 14). This is an exceptional achievement, of which all staff, students and families should be very proud.

Swan Valley Anglican Community School was also listed as being a Course Leader (a school with the highest performing students in Year 12 ATAR courses in the state) in the following subjects:

  • Biology
  • English
  • Human Biology

This is a great testament to the dedication and commitment of our students and staff.

I understand that you have already been informed about some of the more detailed ATAR results, however, I believe that it is worth some further celebration:

  • 11 (40.74%) students gained an ATAR of between 90.00 - 99.95
  • 6 (22.22%) students gained an ATAR of between 80.00 - 89.99
  • 8 (29.63%) students gained an ATAR of between 70.00 - 79.99
  • 2 (7.41%) students gained an ATAR of between 60.00 - 69.99

The following students deserve special recognition for their outstanding ATAR scores:

Riya Patel (99.35), Amor Basson (99.10), Sarah Tucker (97.65), Penelope Gannaway (97.15), Benjamin Rolender (96.75), Jacob Harwig (95.65), Harley Gardiner (95.25), Emily Izzard (95.00), Kiera Macdonald (94.95), Grace Flynn (93.10) and Catherine Taylor (90.70).
