Visual Art and Technology and Enterprise Exhibition
Swan Valley Anglican Community School held the annual Visual Art and Technology and Enterprise Exhibition for the second year in a row. The event was held in the Chapel of the Holy Wisdom of God from Wednesday September 9 to Friday September 11. The opening night on the Wednesday was dedicated to our exhibiting Year 12 students, sponsors and other invited guests including members of the Anglican Schools Commission. Delicious food was prepared and served by Food Technology and Hospitality students and music provided by students in Years 10 and 12.
Awards presented on the night to students went to Xander Goh (Year 2) and Ator Ayiik (Year 9) who received the “Principal’s Choice” Awards, Tayla Ross who achieved the Year 12 Materials Design and Technology Textiles “Visual Impact” award and Connor Boyd who received the Year 12 Materials Design and Technology Wood “Creative Vision”.
On the Thursday, exhibiting students from Years 1 to 11 and their families and friends were invited . The night was attended by over 200 people. Further awards were presented, these included Erin Otley (Year 2) for the ‘Early Childhood Awesome Artist’ Award and Emma Stevens (Year 5) who received the Junior School ‘Excellence in Art’ Award. Sian Thompson (Year 7) was presented with the ‘Senior School Visual Art Encouragement’ Award and Edward Barrett (Year 9) the ‘Senior School Visual Art Dedication’ Award.
Swan Valley Anglican Community School Parents & Friends Association sponsored the “Viewer’s Choice” Awards. These were made after the exhibition concluded and all the votes were counted. Harry Shannon (Year 4) and Emma Stevens (Year 5) were voted the recipients of the Junior School award. Connor Boyd (Year 12) and Courtney-J Ellyard (Year 12) were recipients of Senior School award.
