Grubs Up

Junior Years

For Science Week, Year 5 students welcomed Paula from “Grubs Up”, to talk about the environmental and health benefits of edible insects. They learned that scientists are trying to produce alternative food sources to ensure the continued survival of humans and animals for many years to come, including 3D printing of food, lab-grown meat, and edible insects. Some students even got to taste grubs and crickets! The stand-out favourite was bug rocky road chocolate.
