THRIVE 2016
Everyday Leaders Conference for Year Seven students
On the 16th of February the whole of Year 7 cohort went on an excursion to UWA with three other schools to participate in Thrive 2016. We were inspired by the many amazing people who talked to us about transition to middle school. At lunch, we got to play a variety of fun teambuilding games with the other schools. - Amelia Henderson
When we got to UWA for the Thrive event we were directed down a path towards a theatre called The Pentagon. We had no idea how amazing it really was inside until we walked through the doors. I’m not sure what we enjoyed more. The beautiful singing, the hip dancing or the awesome backpack and bottle! Without doubt the inspirational and amazing stories told by brilliant people, was a massive highlight for me! It was great they got us all jumping and dancing to the beat! - Harry Hyams
On Tuesday 16th February the Year 7s from Swan Valley Anglican Community School travelled to UWA for Thrive 2016. We had different speakers talk to us including an Olympic athlete and the young Australian of the year (2013) telling us about their transition into Year 7. It was a really motivating and fantastic day. My favourite part was when Preston Smiles talked. - Thomas Clarke
At UWA for the Everyday Leaders Conference we were joined with other Year 7s from different schools. We had lots of people come and talk to us about their lives, opportunities and struggles. They were very inspirational. It was all run by volunteers. - Kelsi Popplewell
