School Chaplain 

Full Time, Permanent, PK-12

Commence Date Negotiable

Swan Valley Anglican Community School has an opportunity for a Chaplain (who is an ordained Priest of the Anglican Communion) to provide leadership and guidance in all matters relating to the expression of the Christian faith within the School. The appointee will uphold and encourage the School’s Values of Faith, Commitment, Service, Compassion and Integrity.

The Chaplain is a member of the Pastoral Care Committee, working collaboratively and closely with colleagues to ensure the wellbeing and development of faith of the whole School community. Working in an inclusive community (whose members belong to a range of Christian denominations, other faith backgrounds or have no faith), there is an acceptance and understanding of different faith traditions.

The Chaplain is expected to embrace and participate in all areas of school life, including:

  • Leading services in the School Chapel;
  • Participating in the extracurricular life of the school;
  • Attending major school functions and events; and
  • Providing support to those in need of assistance and guidance.

Although it is not a pre-requisite, if the Chaplain is also a qualified Teacher, teaching RE lessons may be a possibility.
