At Swan Valley Anglican Community School, receiving the correct level of support is recognised as crucial for ensuring successful learning outcomes for students. Staff work diligently to ensure that every student has access to a high-quality education, regardless of their unique needs.

Tailored Support for Gifted and Talented Students

Students who are identified as Gifted or Talented may be offered access to special provisions, including a differentiated curriculum, academic extension, subject or cohort acceleration, and academic enrichment through competitions and select co-curricular experiences.

Classroom Support and Individual Plans

Students who experience significant learning difficulties are provided with additional support in the classroom. To encourage students to achieve their potential, teachers may differentiate the curriculum, assessments or the physical environment. This support is underpinned by a Strategy Support Plan or, where required, an Individual Education Plan.

The staff in the Learning Enrichment Department work closely with teachers, psychologists, external providers, and with students and their families to identify strategies that will best assist each child.

Learning Enrichment Department

Dedicated staff within the Learning Enrichment Department also provide targeted small group Literacy and Numeracy intervention. These intervention programs reflect best practice by employing strategies that assist students at their identified point of need.

In the Secondary School, additional support is provided for students who require extra assistance in preparation for the Online Literacy and Numeracy Assessment (OLNA).
