A Caring Culture at Swan Valley Anglican Community School

The Junior School (Year 3 – 6) at Swan Valley Anglican Community School prides itself on the rapport that it develops with the community. Based on trust and respect, the students learn the importance on how they can be responsible citizens who display the qualities of; kindness, compassion, integrity, commitment and faith.

Our aim is to create a learning environment that encourages inclusivity and acceptance of others. The curriculum supports this by delivering a strong Pastoral Care and Peer Support Programme, which promotes the students giving of themselves to help others. Examples of this includes annual afternoon teas with residents of aged care centres, as well as donating time and resources to a range of local, national and international charities.

Suzanne Stewart, Associate Principal for the Junior School said, “Kindness is a quality that we nurture in each student, as it leads to acceptance and tolerance of others”. This year, the Junior School’s collective goal is to, ‘Choose Kindness’ in all that we do.
