The oval was a sea of maroon, blue, green and orange on Thursday 26 September for the Junior Years Interhouse Athletics Carnival. After weeks of practice and developing their skills in PE classes and House Activities, the day had finally arrived for students to put their skills, literally, into action! The sun shone all day, as did the spirits of our young athletes, as they ran, threw and jumped their hearts out, competing for not only for individual accolades, but to help get their House across the line and rule as the Champion House. Could anyone knock Waylen off their pedestal? It was the question on everyone’s lips as the results were announced at the end of the day. Despite the best efforts of all Irwin, Moore and Stirling competitors, Waylen ruled supreme, taking out the House Shield once again.
Undeniably, the day could not have gone ahead without the help of the parents who supported their children, the Junior Years and PE staff, the officials, the P&FA that kept everyone refreshed and fuelled for the long day and of course the amazing Secondary School students who assisted with many roles on the day; a huge thank you to all involved!
Whilst every student is to be commended for their efforts on the day, a special congratulations goes to those who were awarded Runner-Up Champion or Champion for their age group.
