Year 12 Ball 2015

The Year 12 Ball was held at AQWA in Hillarys Boat Harbour on Saturday, 7 February. The students arrived in an array of fabulous vehicles from pink Hummers to black Chryslers. Everyone looked incredible in their gorgeous gowns and marvellous suits.

The attending staff: Mr Bartell, Mr Racey, Mr Lowndes, Ms Finlay, Ms Griffin and Ms Field, as well as the Year 12 PCG tutors, Mr Barnes-Roberts, Mr Bosch, Mr Komonthouros and Ms Eggleston came dressed for the occasion and all shared a wonderful evening with the Year 12 cohort.

Thanks to the Ball committee; April Robinson, Lara Yagmich, Tayla Ross, Jordan Hartley, Natalie Dausi and Bethany Butler, along with Ms Eggleston. The venue was beautifully decorated and well-designed; it was certainly clear they had spent a great deal of time and effort on the event.

After ‘mocktails’ in the foyer the students enjoyed a casual stroll through the aquarium tunnel surrounded by sharks and tropical fish. On entry to the function room all received a warm welcome from the Principal, Mr Bartell, and a prayer read from the Head Boy, Christoffel Botha. After socialising over a delicious meal, the students took to the dancefloor and strutted their stuff in the hope of winning the “best dancer” award.

Following a great deal of dancing the students sat back down to desert and with the votes tallied the winners of the ‘Best Dancer’ and ‘Cutest Couple’ were cast and allocated to Elliot Stone and the couple Bryony Oliver and Jordan Lenihan. The most ‘Chivalrous Boy’ and most ‘Elegant Girl’ were voted for by the teachers and winning the coveted awards were Dominic Masterson and Riley Lukosius. Needless to say, all were well-deserved and happy with their awards.

The dancing continued well into the night and all shared many ‘selfies’, many laughs and created many memories together of their final year and time as part of the Swan Valley Anglican Community School family.
