R U OK? DAY: Staff and students wore yellow and joined together to recognise the importance of always looking out for our family, friends, colleagues and acquaintances. As part of our Buddy Program, Primary students met with their Secondary student buddies and iced biscuits with yellow icing and sprinkles which they then shared together.
Our school psychologists organised a pledge wall for students to engage with the message behind R U OK? in a meaningful way. Students filled out a card answering a specific question related to asking others if they are okay. The cards were displayed on a pledge wall outside the Library for people to come and see. This hopefully sparked conversations about different ways to be taking care of ourselves and supporting others. Everyone had an opportunity to pin cards to the wall, which showed that everyone has a role in supporting each other, no matter how young or old you are.
