Summer Music Concert 2017

The Swan Valley Anglican Community School Summer Music Concert for 2017 was held on Friday 1 December. An outdoor stage with lighting to complement set the ambience for the evening, on the basketball courts in front of the school library. Students from both Junior and Senior ensembles had the opportunity to perform showcasing repertoire learnt in Semester 2 for their families and friends.

Students ranging from Year 2 to Year 12 partook in this wonderful community event. The evening displayed both choral and instrumental ensembles and it was a delight to hear the improvement of the students over the course of the year.

A highlight of the evening was when the Year 2 to 4 choir, otherwise known as the "Party Choir" joined the lapwing collective for an energetic version of "Walking on Sunshine" as was Michael Woodland's performance of "Hard to Handle" that certainly got the crowd grooving.

Our sincere thanks go to the ensemble directors Marc Early, Jay Leggett, Sam Musca, Felicity Kingston and Brooke Wilson who undoubtedly got the best out of their students. Thanks also goes to the Parents and Friends Association for once again supporting the music department by providing sustenance through the evening for the crowd.

Last but certainly not least I congratulate all the student performers, and thank all their friends and families who came down to support them for what was a truly memorable evening.
