Teacher of Technologies (Food & Textiles)

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Teacher of Technologies to join our Secondary School in a permanent full-time position commencing Semester 1, 2027.

This exciting opportunity involves delivering engaging and practical learning experiences across Food & Textiles. The successful applicant will inspire students through hands-on learning, fostering creativity, problem-solving skills and essential life skills while supporting students to achieve their personal best.

Reporting to the Head of Technologies, you will work within a collaborative and well-resourced department to create inclusive and supportive learning environments that promote student engagement, wellbeing and academic success. You will collaborate with colleagues to explore innovative approaches to teaching and learning, develop and deliver engaging programs within the Home Economics learning area, and plan and prepare lessons that support student achievement. Drawing on your knowledge and practical expertise in areas such as food and nutrition, textiles, children, family and the community, you will help students develop the skills and confidence to succeed both in and beyond the classroom. Strong organisational skills and the ability to meet deadlines set by the Head of Department and School Executive are essential.

About You

You are a passionate and collaborative educator who brings:

  • A Bachelor of Education (or equivalent) and current TRBWA registration.
  • Experience teaching Food & Textiles within a secondary school setting. 
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Food & Textiles education. 
  • A comprehensive understanding of the Western Australian Curriculum.
  • A commitment to high-quality teaching and learning.
  • The ability to differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs.
  • An understanding of assessment practices and data-informed teaching.
  • A collaborative approach to curriculum planning and professional growth.
  • A willingness to support the Mission, Vision, Ethos and Core Values of Swan Valley Anglican Community School.
