Heartbeat of the Valley - Artwork by Richard Websdale

13 May 2026

This year, Swan Valley Anglican Community School is celebrating a very special milestone — our 20th anniversary. As part of our anniversary celebrations, we are proud to share Heartbeat of the Valley, a commissioned artwork by Aboriginal artist Richard Websdale. The artwork honours the deep cultural significance of the Swan River and acknowledges the Whadjuk Noongar people, who have cared for this land for tens of thousands of years. It is a powerful reminder of the enduring heartbeat of Country and the responsibility we share as caretakers of this place. The original artwork is now proudly displayed in our Boardroom, with a print welcoming students, staff, families, and visitors at the entrance to our Collaboration and Creativity Centre. To further mark this milestone year, we have also created a 20th anniversary staff polo shirt, featuring elements of the artwork. Staff will be wearing the shirt throughout the year and beyond as a visible celebration of our journey as a school and our ongoing commitment to place, connection, and reconciliation.
